About PPPA

Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates (PPPA) is one of 21 state public affairs offices of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. PPPA staff coordinates the political and issue education efforts with public affairs staff at Pennsylvania’s six Planned Parenthood affiliates to ensure policy, legislative and grassroots efforts are integrated into one effective statewide strategy. Planned Parenthood’s mission is to achieve maximum public and governmental support for reproductive health care, including family planning, by maintaining a state-wide environment in which organizations and concerned individuals can effectively function to assure that every Pennsylvania has access to comprehensive reproductive health care.

Requirements

To be considered for an internship with Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Create a regular, but flexible, schedule with hours that suit both the intern and the office staff.
• Support the goals and mission of Planned Parenthood, which includes supporting pro-choice laws and policies.
• Possess strong interest in politics, and be familiar with, or be willing to learn, the Pennsylvania political system.
• Internships may qualify for academic credit; applicants are responsible for ensuring that they can receive credit by completing all necessary qualifying requirements and documentation required by their college or university.
